I got out a piece of cardboard and applied a layer of gel medium. I then painted the background with a dark green color. I added some leafy things on top and then applied another layer of gel medium. I decided to get creative and use the type of stuffing that you put in pillows to make it look like snow. I added many layers of gel medium on top of that.

Print- Ink
October 2012
I used ink to paint the base of this print. After it was dry I etched out the flower and then painted it back in with a yellowish-white color. I tried to add a little bit of texture to it. I used the same ink to make the dots in the corners of the square. Lastly, I took black ink and made a feather coming out of the flower.

I used tempera paint to paint different designs on my print. It never actually was printed though because it did not work.
Jelly Bowl 1
September & October 2012
This is my first jelly bowl. I started out drawing a circle on a type of wax paper. I filled that circle with a thick layer of gel medium. Then I added a layer of leaves and colored tissue paper. I applied those with gel medium. Then I added the wire to the bowl with another layer of gel medium. My last layer was a string around the center of the bowl. After it was all dry I bent it to the shape I wanted.

Artist Statement III

I love art so much. Some of my favorite utensils to draw with are pencil and paint brushes. In my pictures, I like to add a lot of shading. When I paint, I like to use acrylic. Watercolor is okay, but it is a tad hard to use in my opinion.

Water Scene- Acrylic

I used acrylic paint to paint this water scene. I really like my waves and waterfall. I used a fan brush to paint all my trees and a flat brush for the sky and water. I used many different brushes for the waves and waterfall.

I chose a song, Still Rock and Roll to Me by Billy Joel, and made it into a picture. It's from the 80s so I incorporated many 80s colors and themes. I used pastel for most of it and then used water color to paint over it. When I got done painting with water color I used some different techniques.

Graveyard- Acrylic on Canvas

I was inspired by my grandfather to paint this. I stretched a canvas and then used acrylic paint to paint it. I really like the snow and I love to paint pine trees. My favorite part of this painting is the sky. I think it blends beautifully.

Artist Statement II
My artwork has changed so much in the past year and it's because I'm realizing what mediums I'm good with. I still love my pencil drawings, but I'm starting to like painting with acrylics. Painting and drawing is am awesome way for me to express myself. I'm very glad I've had the opportunity to take an art class in high school. It really shows how much potential I have.

Book- Acrylic Paint
April 2012
I glued down the pages of the books. Then, I mixed silver and purple paint toi paint the background of my book. I painted the words to "For the First Time" by the Script. After I decided to add some detailing so I used black and white paint.
Still Life Flowers- Pencil

I drew a still life of flowers. There were lilacs and a tulip. I used a pencil and added many different shades of pencil to add depth to my picture.

Acrylic Paint- Trees, Waves, & Waterfalls

On the left hand side of the page I painted a waterfall. On the top right I painted pine trees, with a reflection of them into the water. Finally, on the bottom right I painted a wave. I think this wave looks really good. Both the waterfall and wave was painted using a fan brush.

I practiced painting the wave in the blue ocean. I do not think it was my best wave, but it was my first one. I painted the background with two different blues, one for water and the other for sky. I then proceeded with a fan brush to paint the wave.

I painted one big cloud in the middle and added a tree. The grasses were made by using a fan brush and pulling the paint up.

I used acrylic paint and the round brush to paint many clouds in the sky. I used a whiter paint and a darker color on bottom. In the water I have small waves.

I used an orange background and painted flowers using acrylic paint on top of it. I used the stringer bruch and the round brush to make them. The flowers are red with green stems. I like the leaves on the middle flower.

I was assigned to paint a barn with trees in the background. I used more vivid colors to paint this scene. I really like the trees and my barn in this painting. To paint the grasses I used the stringed brush and I used the sponge to put the leaves on the trees.

I used five different emotions all painted in watercolor. The yellow and orange one is happy; The background is yellow with orange painted on with a fan brush. Blue is for sadness; I dripped water on it after it was painted. The black with brown dots represents anger. The rosy pink color is love, and the green represents a calm feeling.

I used watercolor paint to paint my version of "Starry Night." To paint it, I used a sponge which allowed the moving effect shown in the picture. I dotted the sponge on the paper to make the stars look how they doin Van Gogh's picture.

I used warm and cold colors for the different layers of the weave. The warm colors are the background and the cold colors are woven into the background. I tried to make it look like a sun.

Pastel & Acrylic- Irish Theme

The first layer of this artwork was pastels. I colored the canvas on a diagnol with a bunch of different colors. Black acrylic paint was then painted over it. Once it was all dry, I scratched out different designs. I went with an Irish theme with four-leaf clovers and an Irish Blessing. It's somewhat hard to see the writing though.

For this assignment I decided to do a picture of the train station in Detroit, MI. I drew out what it looked like and then traced over in in pen. To top it all off I used many different colors of acrylic paint to paint it with.
