Watercolor & Pen-Self Portrait

October 17th, 2011

I started with a picture of myself that was printed off from the computer and I chose two complimentary colors, green and red. Then I added a layer of both colors of watercolor and black pen and sprayed it. After it had dried I added another layer of both watercolor and pen. There was a total of three layers of green and red watercolor and pen on my self portrait.

Tempera-Complimentary Color Chart

October 5th, 2011

I mixed complimentary colors together little by little to form new colors. Green was mixed into red in the first column, red into green in the second, orange into blue in the third, blue into orange in the fourth, yellow into purple in the fifth, and purple in to yellow in the final column.

Tempera-Monochromatic Chart

I used tempera paint to make this monochromatic chart. With each of the six colors, I mixed both white and black paint. The final result is both the tints and shades of each color.

Tempera-Optical Illusion

September 29th, 2011

I used different values of green to mimic an optical illusion. If you look at the illusion, you can see dark black spots where the lightest green is out of the corner of your eyes.
